I manage engineers and still write code most weeks. Most of my work sits where product pressure meets an architecture that has stopped holding. At Booky that meant moving the platform off a monolith and onto serverless across every squad, then cutting the AWS bill by 70%.
Management did not make me less technical. It made me pickier about which problems are worth a team's quarter. I am most useful early, in the argument about what to build, and I stay through the middle, when the design meets the parts of production nobody modelled.

Led the monolith-to-serverless migration to 90% platform coverage, then cut AWS costs 70% through Lambda rightsizing and consolidation. Wrote the business-continuity plan, including a fallback runtime that runs every Lambda microservice as a standalone Go HTTP server so the platform survives an AWS outage. Earlier: took the website to 90+ on PageSpeed Insights, moved it from JavaScript to TypeScript, and built a custom SSR engine on React, Express and GraphQL plus the serverless image service behind CloudFront that every frontend still uses.
